Employee Appreciation Day is celebrated the first Friday of March. We think employee appreciation should be recognized more than just once a year. Lack of appreciation leads to lower employee retention and therefore increases on-boarding and training costs. We created the following infographic to shed light on this situation and illustrate easy ways to maintain a happier workforce. Contact us for ideas on how your company can honor Employee Appreciation Day!

July is National Ice Cream month so it may come as no surprise that it is our favorite month of the year! Creative Ice Cream Flavors Day (July 1): Start the month off on a fun and creative note with an extravagant ice cream celebration! Surprise your party guests with some unexpected ice cream flavors and toppings. Some of the craziest flavors that we have created are maple bacon ice cream, kahlua chocolate chunk, peppermint, strawberry cheesecake and the captain’s rum raisin. Independence Day (July 4): The most celebrated occasion in July is Independence Day. Since July 4th falls on a Saturday this year, you have all weekend to honor the monumental holiday! At Scoops2u, we believe bomb pops are the most appropriate dessert for recognizing Independence Day. We will have plenty of both regular and junior bomb pops so you can pick which size treat works best for your group! Strawberry Sundae & Chocolate Day: (July 7) It has been scientifically proven that strawberries and chocolate taste great together so why not take full advantage and celebrate both occasions?! Host a fun event featuring both healthy and unhealthy menu options to satisfy everyone at the party. Start the party off with a fruit platter and smoothies. Since its summertime, you shouldn’t have a gathering without ice cream so we recommend serving chocolate and strawberry sundaes with chocolate covered strawberries for dessert. NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY: (July 20) Everyone screams for ice cream on National Ice Cream Day! It should go without saying that this is one of the best days of the year. National Ice Cream Day is the one day that everyone takes a break from their healthy summer diets to indulge in the most refreshing kind of treat. It is strongly suggested that you treat yourself, treat your friends & treat your family members to the most delicious and decadent ice cream sundaes (like the one pictured on the left).
Hopefully these July party ideas will keep you cool all month long! Feel free to contact us with any & all ice cream requests!

June is one of our favorite months of the year because the weather is great and there are many exciting excuses to celebrate! Frozen Yogurt Day (6/4) Frozen Yogurt is such a delicious treat that it definitely deserves a day devoted to devouring it! It is recommended that you take advantage of this special affair and host a fun FroYo social featuring various fruity and tart flavors! Go all out by adding a toppings table and some ice cream related decorations. Since frozen yogurt is typically less heavy than traditional ice cream, party guests should be able to consume more than one flavor/serving! Chocolate Ice Cream/Cancer Survivor Day (6/7) Chocolate Ice Cream Day and Cancer Survivor Day both happen to be honored on June 7th, so why not combine forces and host a celebration that honors these joyous occasions?! An easy way to combine both “holidays” is to serve pink breast cancer cookies with chocolate ice cream. You can also create a festive pink drink. Design the party space with pink balloons and napkins plus chocolate decorations if possible. International Picnic Day (6/18) June is one of the best months to spend time outside so it is appropriate that International Picnic Day falls in the middle of the month. Picnics are the perfect way to bring people together to play games, share food and appreciate wonderful weather and company. While there are many approaches to celebrating this fun day, there are certain staples that are necessary for all true picnic parties. A picnic is incomplete without a checkered tablecloth or blanket, a basket of food and some form of entertainment (frisbee, football, volleyball). The most popular picnic foods are fruit, sandwiches, salads, and of course ice cream for dessert! Father’s Day (6/21) As the saying goes, “Actions speak louder than words.” Show your dad how much you appreciate him but throwing a party in his honor! Invite the friends and family over for an outdoor barbecue and cook up some of dad’s favorite dishes. Be sure to stock up on your father’s favorite drinks as well. Don’t forget ice cream or something sweet and delicious to serve for dessert!

May promises flowers and beautiful Spring days, making it the perfect month to host a special get-together!
There are many joyous occasions in May that can be incorporated into themed events. Read on to learn about our top 5 May Party ideas! No Diet Day/Eat What You Want (May 6 or 11) Take advantage of one (or both) of these delectable diet free days! No diet means no worrying about what foods or beverages to serve to party guests. Institute a “No complaining” rule and invite attendees to bring their favorite unhealthy snacks. If you wanted to add decorations to the party, anything food or drink related would work. Mother’s Day (May 10) Mother’s Day is the perfect time to demonstrate appreciation. After all of the years of planning annual birthday parties, it’s time to give the moms a break and throw a party to honor everything they do! Invest in some bright or pastel colored decorations that spell out “Mom.” Flowers would also be appropriate for decor. Contact your mother’s favorite catering company or restaurant and make sure they provide all of her favorite foods! World Baking Day (May 17) Calling all bakeaholics! This is your opportunity to host a bakeathon party! Make that sweet treat you’ve been dreaming of and invite all your friends or family over to indulge. You could even experiment with a couple of delicious desserts and see which one is most popular among your guests. A fun party favor idea would be cute aprons and print outs of the recipes used to make the baked goods. Indy 500 (May 24) Set your engines to party mode because the Indianapolis 500 Car Race is taking place Memorial Day Weekend! Car enthusiasts would love attending an Indy 500 themed party. A successful party would include car themed decorations, such as car table runners, cups, napkins, streamers and checkered flags. Neighbor Day (May 30) May 30 has been declared National Neighbor Day! National Neighbor day falls on a Saturday this year, so that weekend is going to be the best time to organize a block party. We recommend a potluck-style party and invite each neighbor to bring their own dish. Set up some background music and fun games that would be enjoyed by everyone.
We hope you try one of these festive theme party ideas and may your month be full of flowers, sunshine, good food and fun!

There are many joyous occasions to acknowledge during the month of April. The transition from winter to spring has passed, so now it is time to start planning outdoor parties! We have some great ideas for how you can host an April-appropriate themed party! Spring Break: Take your guests on a temporary vacation by hosting a spring break beach party! Invest in some decorations like beach balls and napkins decorated with fishes. As demonstrated in the picture on the left, you could utilize colored buckets as containers for foods like fruit and salad. For a beach party, we recommend fried shrimp appetizers, vegetable sticks, small sandwiches, iced drinks and a variety of ice cream bars for dessert!
Baseball Opener: Score a home run with your friends/family and host an opening day gathering! Baseball season begins the second week of April (Nationals on 4/6 and Orioles on 4/10). As America’s favorite pastime, baseball is an excellent excuse for a themed event. A true baseball party must have peanuts and cracker jacks complimented with different soda options. We suggest incorporating additional finger foods into the menu such as kettle corn, mini hot dogs and pizzas. Ice cream sundaes would be the perfect end to the party because who doesn’t love customizing their own delicious dessert?!
Spring Fever/Cherry Blossoms Since the cherry blossoms are predicted to peak around April 11-14, we think the beginning of April would be an optimal time to celebrate. Flowers are perfect for decorations as well as bright colored balloons and napkins. Lemonade and smoothies would be popular drink options for event attendees. Spring rolls with fresh vegetables would pair well with the spring theme. Dessert could include flower designed cookies, cupcakes, or even cherry vanilla ice cream sundaes with cherries on top. Earth Day: Go Green and celebrate Earth Day on April 22! In honor of Earth Day, centerpieces and other decorations should be crafted from recyclable materials. Any decorations with plants and/or globes are highly encouraged for an Earth Day party. Invite your guests to carpool or travel via modes of public transportation to reduce car pollution. Locally produced foods and beverages should be highlighted on the event’s menu. End the party on a sweet note by offering the classic dirt sundae with gummy worms as a dessert. Administrative Professionals Day: Secretaries/receptionists and office employees are an integral part to any successful business, so it is important to honor them on Administrative Professionals Day (4/23). APD is one of the most celebrated workplace holidays. Many companies contact catering companies like SCOOPS2U to provide their administrative professionals with a special treat. We recommend treating employees to decadent desserts like premium ice cream, cookies and cupcakes. Additionally, gift certificates, lottery tickets, and work bonuses would be excellent gifts that would be appreciated by any employee.
Hopefully, some of these April party ideas will inspire you to plan a fun and festive celebration!

March is one of the most exciting months to host a party because the weather is finally warming up and there are lots of reasons to celebrate! There are many holidays and observances that fall in the month of March. The SCOOPS2U team believes that themed events are more special and memorable. If you are planning a party, you should consider applying a theme based on one or some of the various happenings this month! National Pi Day (3/14): Calling all math and food lovers! Pi Day is the perfect opportunity to throw a fun math event featuring all sorts of pies. Popular pie choices would be pizza, shepherd, meat, and the obvious apple or cherry pie. Almost any food with a circle shape could work as a pie reference. SCOOPS2U could even provide strawberry cheesecake ice cream sundaes with pie crust pieces to honor the Pi concept. Suggested decor options include balloons, napkins and paper plates with the Pi symbol or math operations. St. Patrick’s Day (3/17): Although St. Patrick’s Day is a holiday designed to glorify the “Luck of the Irish”, it is not just celebrated by Irish people. In fact, individuals from all different backgrounds enjoy participating in St. Patty’s Day events. To host your own Patty’s party, you will need to find some form of green edibles and decorations. Start your party off with a round of Irish beers and zucchini fries or even chips with green guacamole dip. Think about serving jalapeno popcorn or green kettle corn (pictured to the left) for a sweet and salty snack option. Delicious desserts should feature pistachio or mint chocolate chip ice cream sundaes to end your event on a sweet note! Cherry Blossom Festival & Start of Spring (3/20): If you and your guests enjoy nature or being outdoors, we recommend throwing a Cherry Blossom or Start of Spring gathering. Flowers are great for decoration and the bright spring colors can be incorporated into food options. Fresh fruit smoothies would be a perfect drink option for a Spring party. Spring rolls would be an appropriate appetizer for a Spring themed party. We would recommend serving desserts with either flowers or fruity flavors, such as designed cookies/cupcakes or Cherry Vanilla ice cream sundaes. March Madness (3/17-3/29): College Sports enthusiasts will never turn down a March Madness Party! Send out party invitations in bracket format to get guests pumped up for the madness. Consider investing in some basketball decorations such as orange and black balloons, napkins, and candies. You will score extra points for serving basketball designed desserts such as sugar cookies or cupcakes. Score the slam dunk by having a fridge stocked with brews and appetizer platters featuring assorted March Madness munchies like mini sliders, meatballs, or even deep-friend mozzarella bites!
Make up your own holiday day (3/26): This can be interpreted any way you would like. Get creative with it because this is an unique opportunity to pull off any type of themed party! Some wild ideas could be “National Ice Cream Social Day,” “Dress Like Your Favorite Celebrity,” or even a “70’s Disco Party!”
